Better than Galaxy S5 ? Cheaper than Nexus 5 ?
You read that right. Now i know you're saving the hard earned pocket money to buy your new phone or probably begging your parents real hard to buy you the new one. Because I'm one of you guys !
Its the Oneplus One I'm talking about. its the first flagship model called "One" from a 5 months old company called "Oneplus". Oneplus is a Chinese based company also known as an offshoot of Oppo - A lesser known name among the mobile phone manufacturers but claiming to be the second most profitable company in china. Now they made a phone with amazing high end features giving a devastating competition to all those "jeb k dushman" brands out there. So you can have all the high end features at a really low budget. I'll tell you how.
Unfortunately it's not yet known if this phone will be available in India. We can just wait and pray. Chances are that it will be available in India for Rs.20,000 to Rs.25,000 if they decide to bless the Indian market. That's all for now. If you have some more information or correction, feel free to comment. If you think this one is too cheap, feel free to buy me one.

The Oneplus One has a Snapdragon 801 chip set, with a 2.5 GHz quad core CPU and an Adrino 330 GPU, 3 GB ram, 5.5 inch 1080p JDI display, and a 13 MP primary camera with a 5 MP front camera. For those of you wondering what JDI is, JDI stand for Japan Display Inc. It's an LCD technology joint venture between Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi. Also the Oneplus One comes preinstalled with a custom version of Cyanogenmod built specially for this device. They're calling it Cyanogenmon 11 S. Clearly, they're gonna provide the users with a lot of tweaks for which the users would otherwise have to root their phones. Enough with the specs, let's get into it. What's the big deal? It's gonna be available in a 16 GB version for $299 and a 64 GB version for $349. But how is it so cheap? A phone with specifications like these is manufactured roughly within a budget of $200. Keeping around $100 profit for the company in the market price, what's left is the budget for advertising, engineering consultations etc. Obviously, the Oneplus cut out the later costs from the market price for the sake of their customers. That means the Oneplus is selling a flagship phone at almost half the price of other flagships available in the market. But not everyone can get their hands on this flagship model yet.
The Oneplus has an invite system that allows a person who receives an invite in the form of an email, to get the phone for themselves. Here are some FAQ's that'll help you understand the concept a little better.
• why aren't they just selling it ?
Ans. Maybe because they don't wanna run out of stock and keep their valuable customers waiting. Nor they wanna produce too much and sell less. Being a 5 months old company they're definitely gonna go for a safer option.
• How can i get an invite?
Ans. Through friends, or contests. One of these contests - now closed - called "smash the past" contest invited videos from interested buyers smashing their old phones. Ones who sent a video smashing their phone got an invite.
• when is the next invite?
Ans. Late may, as they say. They're gonna giveaway a 64 GB black version of the phone in the next invite contest. The information regarding the next invite will be available at their forums.
